(1957- )
Born in South Philadelphia and trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Rucci began his career working for Halston in 1980. After producing his first show in 1981, which failed to solicit orders, he closed his business but then reopened in 1993 under the name Chado. In 2006, Rucci was awarded the first Couture Council Award presented by the Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
